2015 Academy Awards

Lại một mùa giải Oscar mới, năm nay tôi có may mắn được xem gần như toàn bộ đề cử, nhưng cuối cùng lại thành "không may" vì chẳng kiếm nổi phim Hollywood nào để lại ấn tượng sâu sắc hoặc khiến mình phải phấn khích khi xem xong (tới mức mà trong số 8 ứng viên của hạng phục Phim hay nhất, tôi không kiếm nổi lấy một phim để bỏ phiếu - nếu có cái quyền đó). Sau đây là dự đoán của tôi về các bộ phim sẽ chiến thắng trong lễ trao giải sắp tới, như thường lệ, đỏ là ứng viên tôi dự đoán sẽ chiến thắng, còn xanh là ứng viên tôi hy vọng sẽ chiến thắng (nếu ứng viên đó khác với ứng viên tôi dự đoán sẽ đoạt giải).

Tôi tương đối thích Boyhood vì cách xử lý nhẹ nhàng hết sức "Richard Linklater", nhưng lại cũng không thích bộ phim vì sự nửa vời cũng rất "Richard Linklater", vì vậy tôi dành phiếu bầu của mình cho Birdman, dù bộ phim mang tính biểu tượng cao này tương đối lộn xộn và vì thế thiếu đi phần cảm xúc (trừ cảnh phim cuối cùng). So với những Selma hay American Sniper thì Gone Girl của David Fincher và Inherent Vice của PTA xứng đáng có mặt trong danh sách đề cử này hơn nhiều.

Alejandro González Iñárritu – Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)

Richard Linklater – Boyhood

Bennett Miller – Foxcatcher

Morten Tyldum – The Imitation Game

Thật vui khi thấy Wes Anderson được thừa nhận rộng rãi đến như vậy, nhưng tôi nghĩ Linklater vẫn sẽ là người chiến thắng.

Không hiểu sao Birdman xuất sắc như vậy lại không được đề cử cho hạng mục này.

Benedict Cumberbatch – The Imitation Game as Alan Turing

Michael Keaton – Birdman as Riggan Thomson / Birdman

Eddie Redmayne – The Theory of Everything as Stephen Hawking

Eddie Redmayne hiện đang có "đà" sau khi giành giải BAFTA, nhưng tôi đánh giá nhân vật của anh (Stephen Hawking) được xây dựng khá thường, nếu so với nhân vật của Felicity Jones, vì vậy Redmayne cũng "dễ diễn" hơn (đóng người bị ALS cho giống không phải vấn đề lớn, mà mô tả tình cảm của họ thể hiện qua cử chỉ mới là điều khó khăn, rất tiếc là kịch bản phim "làm không ra" khía cạnh này và vì thế Redmayne cũng ít cơ hội toả sáng hơn).

Julianne Moore – Still Alice as Dr. Alice Howland

Rosamund Pike – Gone Girl as Amy Elliott-Dunne

Gần như 99,9% Moore sẽ giành giải Oscar đầu tiên cho một vai diễn kém hơn nhiều những vai cô từng đóng trong Boogie Nights, Magnolia, hay Far from Heavens. Đây là điều khá đáng tiếc bởi danh sách đề cử này có nhiều vai diễn khiến tôi thích thú hơn nhiều lần như vai của Felicity Jones hay Rosamund Pike (vai của Moore không tồi, nhưng một lần nữa kịch bản tồi đã không tạo đủ đất diễn cho cô thể hiện hết mình), nhưng nếu có thể bầu thì tôi sẽ bầu cho Cotillard, vai diễn "trầm" nhất trong số các đề cử năm nay nhưng lại thể hiện sức mạnh diễn xuất phi thường của Cotillard.

Tương tự Moore, Simmons gần như đã "chắc giải", tôi cũng rất thích vai diễn của ông, nhưng sẽ là điều tuyệt vời nếu Ed Norton-một trong những diễn viên tôi yêu thích nhất, được "trả lại" một giải Oscar mà anh đã bị "lấy mất" trong lần được đề cử với American History X.

Arquette là điểm sáng nhất của Boyhood (vì thế nhiều người đã nhận xét rằng bộ phim hoàn toàn có thể đổi tên thành Motherhood).

Inherent Vice có lẽ là bộ phim kém tiếng nhất của PTA kể từ nhiều năm trở lại đây, nhưng với tôi, đây vẫn là bộ phim xuất sắc vào loại nhất của năm nay.

How to Train Your Dragon 2 là một bước lùi khủng khiếp của Dreamwork nếu so với phần 1, Big Hero 6 là một phim hoạt hình "mỳ ăn liền" kiểu Marvel hết sức bình thường. Tôi rất rất hy vọng Isao Takahata sẽ có giải Oscar đầu tiên trong năm Miyazaki có được giải Oscar thành tựu sự nghiệp, nhưng có lẽ hy vọng đó quá nhỏ nhoi.
